Volunteer Community Research Opportunity

Volunteer Position: Korean Community Health Surveyors (2)

TIME PERIOD: 11/23/2010 thru 2/15/2011
LOCATION: 818 Webster St, Oakland, CA 94607

Description
Conduct outreach to Asian Health Services' Korean patients for their participation in a community research survey conducted at our main community health center site. Orally administer the survey and conduct data-entry of their responses.

Project Purpose
To determine the effectiveness of a set of prescription drug instructions translated into Korean with 20 Korean community members with limited English skills.

Skills
Bilingual English-Korean: Able to read and speak English and Korean.
Public Contact Skills: Ability to engage community members.
Data Entry Skills: Familiarity with PCs, word-processing and spreadsheet software.

Requirements
Available to volunteer during business hours during Nov 2010 - Feb 2011.
Available for 40 hours of volunteer during Nov 2010 - Feb 2011.
Highly preferable: Available to attend a 3-hour training on Tues, 11/23 from 9am - noon.
